Terms of Service

Last updated: April 14, 2026

By accessing vehiclelookup.org or any of its subdomains, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Use of the service

Vehicle Lookup provides free tools to look up vehicle information using public data sources. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and only to look up vehicles you own or have a legitimate interest in. You will not use our tools to harass, stalk, or harm another person.

Not a consumer report

Vehicle Lookup is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You may not use information from this site for any FCRA-regulated purpose, including employment, tenant screening, credit, insurance, or any decision about a person's eligibility for a benefit.

Accuracy and availability

We work hard to surface accurate data from NHTSA, EPA, and our licensed partners, but we cannot guarantee that every field is complete, current, or error-free. Reports are provided "as is" with no warranty. You should independently verify anything material before acting on it.

Paid reports

Premium vehicle history reports are sold and fulfilled by third-party NMVTIS-approved providers. Their terms of sale, refund policies, and data coverage govern those transactions and will be presented before purchase.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vehicle Lookup and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which for free users is $0.

Intellectual property

The Vehicle Lookup name, logo, design, and editorial content are our property. Public data surfaced through our tools belongs to its respective source (NHTSA, EPA, state DMVs).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
